Wave-Times, Thurs. Nov. 10, 1938 ORA BACHELDER DIES AT HIS HOME IN G.R. A Prosperous Farmer and Business Man of Lake Odessa's Former Years, Leaves Wife, Son, and Three Grandchildren. Ora Bachelder of Grand Rapids, passed away at his home there Saturday morning after an illness of three months. Mrs. Bachelder was born in Ohio in 1860 and came to Odessa when eight years of age. The farm now occupied by Mrs. Sophia Lindquist and sons Oscar and Fred was improved and Mrs. Bachelder. He was in the hardware business with Moses Ringler for a few years. Twenty-five years ago he moved to Grand Rapids and purchased apartment houses conducting a rental of 31 families. The funeral was held at the Metcalf funeral home and burial was at Restlawn, Grand Rapids. He leaves his wife, a son Fay and three grandchildren, Mrs. Evelyn Meyers, Elwood and Donal. He leaves two brothers, Bert Bachelder of Grand Rapids and Warren Bachelder of Hastings, and two sisters Mrs. Henry Groff of Campbell and Mrs. Bert Lepard of West Odessa.
