EMMA BACKRUS FORMER RESIDENT DIED MONDAY
   Mrs. Emma V. Backrus, 82, former local resident passed away Monday night at the
Wall Convalescent home 
in Flint.  She had been a resident at the home since 1947.
   A native of Ionia county she had spent most of her life in this area.  Her
husband Marcena passed away in 
1946 when they lived on Musgrove highway.
   Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Thressa Parker of Fenton, 3 grand children and
11 great grand children.
   Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 at the Pickens funeral chapel with
burial in Lakeside cemetery.
   Rev. Clayton Parker of Elsie will officiate.
