Ionia Daily Standard 27 February 1902
Detroit papers announce the death of Edward K. Bacon of that city, on Thursday 
of last week, of pneumonia.  Dr. Bacon is well-known to Ionians, having lived 
his early life in this city.  He came here with his parent, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob 
Bacon, when a child and received his education in the public schools of this 
city, where he was always regarded as a fine student.  He studied medicine 
with Dr. S. M. Bayard and later took a course in the Michigan College of 
medicine.
