M.J. Weaver used a text of Scripture selected by the deceased, and spoke very feelingly from it. Rev. W.K. Spencer assisted in the services at the church. Mrs. Beatrice Smith and Mrs. Judson Stone sang “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “Asleep in Jesus,” accompanied by Mrs. Bert Stone at the organ. The bearers were the Stone brothers, H.F. Kendall, C.H. Stoddard, J.D. Strachan, and T.E. Jackson. Numerous relatives from a distance attended the funeral, among them Mrs. Irvin Beacon, of Detroit; Mrs. Bertha Newton, of Grand Rapids, and others from Portland and Elwell. Rev.
