Badder, 60, of 718 State street died Monday afternoon at Ionia County Memorial hospital. A lifelong resident of Ionia county he was born December 6, 1900, in Orange township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Badder and attended LeValley schools. He was married June 30, 1927 in Ionia to Ethel Mason. Mr. Badder was employed by Todd and Ross Fuel company, and General Motors AC plant in Ionia for several years. For the past 17 years he worked at Fate’s Food Market. He was an honorary life member of BPOE 548 of Ionia, and a member of Ionia Fishing and Hunting club and West Michigan Pistol and Rifle club. Surviving are his wife, Ethel; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marian) Macauley of Ionia; his mother, Mrs. Lillian Badder; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Albert Herman of Lowell, Mrs. Charles Croel of Lyons, and Mrs. John Kenney of Ionia; two brothers, Donald Badder of Ionia, and Fred of Battle Creek. Funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at Phelps funeral chapel with burial in the family lot at Tuttle cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. John W. Tennyson, pastor of First Baptist church. The family will be at the chapel Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7 until 9 to receive relatives and friends. A memorial fund is being established and contributions will be accepted for the cancer fund.
