Ray Badder, 73, of Belding, passed away Thursday evening, February 20, 2014 at 
home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice.  Ray was 
born on April 4, 1940 in Ionia, the son of Murl and Mildred (Minier) Badder.  
Ray was a member of the Moose Lodge in Ionia, Eagles of Greenville and the 
American Legion Post #203 of Belding.  He enjoyed fishing, working on tractors, 
yard work, puttering in the garage and liked to socialize.  Ray was a Veteran 
in the US Army serving from 1957 to 1960 inspired by his seven brothers who 
also served their country in the various armed forces.  

Ray married Sue King on July 4, 1984 and she survives along with their 
children; Bryan (Mary) Badder of Grand Rapids, Kirby Johnson of Sheridan, Gary 
(Ronda) Stewart of Indiana, Brenda Badder of Universal City, Texas, Rebecca 
Chambers of Schertz, TX, Bethany Wright of Melbourne, FL and Terra (Zach) 
Powers of Belding, grandchildren; Lynel, Justin, Aubrey, Bobby, Janelle, 
Alyssa, Amber (Danny), Ashley (Josh), Tyler, Danielle, Zachariah, Logan, 
Valerie, LaNessa (Dustin), Erik (Lori) and 16 great grandchildren, one sister; 
Ellen O’Bryant of Ionia.  Ray was preceded by his parents, brothers; Kenneth, 
Loren, Daryl, Dale, Doug, Polly, Melvin and Lee. 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Johnson Feuerstein 
Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Tim DeShaw of the Greenville Church of the 
Nazarene officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.  
Interment will be in the spring at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.  
Memorials may be given to American Legion Post #203 of Belding
