She has been an invalid for five or six years suffering from paralysis. She has been lovingly cared for by her daughters, Mrs. Alvirda Heaton being with her almost all the time for the past three years. Mrs. Badger was especially noted for her kindness and loyalty to her family, her neighbors and wherever she could be of service was long as she was able, even visiting the sick the day before she was stricken. The long illness has been a severe test on her strength of character, but her children unite in calling her blessed. OBITUARY: Sarah Jane Frank was born at Sumerset, Perry county, Ohio, August 1, 1840, and departed this life Saturday morning, April 12, 1924. She was the youngest of three children born to Isaac and Eleanor Frank. Her parents moved to Wood county when she was about one year old. She lived there until she was twenty years of age, when she was united in marriage to William Badger. To this union were born six children, five girls and one son. The son died when he was only three months old, and Ada William preceded her two years ago. Soon after her marriage she united with the Methodist Episcopal church at McCutchenville, Ohio. She always maintained her profession and lived a worthy Christian life. She did her share of Mission work and was a faithful Sabbath School worker in her early days. She taught the Bible class for a number of years and was also superintendent. She was always ready to help and look after the sick. She was a devoted wife and mother. In 1879 they moved to Michigan and located on Odessa Township, Ionia County, where she lived until about a year after the death of Mr. Badger in 1905, when she moved to her present home on Sixth Avenue. She leaves to mourn, four daughters, Mrs. Alvirda Heaton and Miss Mae Badger of this village, Mrs. E. l. Probart of Grand Rapids and Mrs. A. T. Dirr also of this village, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a nephew and other relatives, as well as a host of friends by whom she was loved and respected. The funeral was held at the home Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Floyd H. Cramer gave a splendid sermon. Burial was at Lake Side cemetery.
