Funeral at Home of Henry Metzger, Here, Wednesday William Jay Badgley, son of Louis Badgley, an early resident of this community, died at the home of his son Dwight, in Rhinelander, Wis., Saturday, Oct. 16, of a sudden heart ailment at the age of 66 years. Mr. Badgley was born in Berlin Township near the Odessa line and was for many years a well- known citizen. His children attended the Lake Odessa Schools. Leaving her several years ago he went west and about two years ago went to live with his son in Wisconsin. He is survived by his widow Ora, four children, Mrs. Glendora Laughlin, Detroit; Mrs. Florence Cook, Lansing; Mrs. Marguerette Castle, Ionia, and Dwight Badgley of Rhinelander, Wis.; one brother, Ray L. Badgley of Grand Rapids, and a sister, Mrs. Kate Nixon of Jackson; eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the home of Henry Metzger, at Lake Odessa, with Rev. C. N. Stormes officiating. Burial was at Lakeside cemetery.
