She had been in ill health for the past 14 years and for five months had been confined to her bed. Born in Berlin township, the daughter of Susan and Charles Hines, pioneers of Berlin township, she received her education at the Randall school. In 1889 she became the bride of William J. Badgley and they made their home in South Berlin until his death four years ago. After that she moved to South Ionia where she lived with her daughter. She was a member of the South Berlin Methodist church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Glendora Laughlin of Detroit, Mrs. Florence Cook of Lansing and Mrs. Marguerite Castle of South Ionia; one son, Dwight Earl Badgley of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; one sister, Mrs. Henry Metzger of Lake Odessa; a brother, Emerson Hines, of Lansing; 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Interment will be at the Lake Odessa cemetery and the funeral arrangements will be announced later.
