It was 20 years ago that Mr. Badgley sold his hay, ice and coal business in the village and moved to the west. He has since traveled extensively. His brother, Frank J. Badgley of Portland, was notified of his demise and the body was ordered shipped to Portland for funeral and interment. He was born on a farm in Orange township and went to Portland with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jabez Badgley, when a boy. He graduated from the Portland schools and then attended a business college in Grand Rapids. In the early days of the World war he enlisted and served 23 months in France.
