Badgley of Lake Odessa received word of the death of his son Lewis at Canton, South Dakota, last week. He went west about two years ago, and his parents have not heard from him since. This is the fourth young man who has gone from Lake Odessa to the west to be brought back dead within four months. The funeral services for Lewis Badgley was held on Sunday at the South Boston M. E. church, Rev. A. E. North officiating. The church was crowded to the door with mourning friends and neighbors. The young man met his death by being run over by a construction train. At the time of the accident he was engaged in unloading poles from the train while in motion. One of the poles knocked him off between two cars. The car wheels passed over both arms, his head and shoulders. Death was instantaneous. The accident happened at a point about 16 miles west of Lemmon, North Dakota.
