Lake Odessa Wave, 16 Mar 1900

Thaddeus Bailey, for nearly thirty years a resident of Odessa township, passed 
away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A.E. Haight, on last Wednesday, March 7, 
of cancer of the stomach.  Mr. Bailey was born in Brokenstraw township, 
Crawford county, Pa., Nov 8, 1819.  At the age of three years he moved with his 
parents to Ohio, where he lived until 1872, when he moved to Odessa township, 
this county.  He was married to Thankful M. Bailey, of Vermont, in 1846; his 
wife passing away in 1869, after 23 years of a happy married life.

The surviving relatives of the deceased are two brothers, a daughter and son, 
six grand children, and four great grandchildren.  He also leaves a large 
circle of friends, many of whom were present at the funeral, which was held at 
the West Odessa U.B. church, Friday forenoon, Rev. Maruer officiating.  The 
remains were interred in Lakeside cemetery #1-22.
