Ionia Sentinel Standard, 15 Dec 1961

Mrs. Hattie Bailey, 87, died Thursday evening at the home of her
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Bailey, 402 Division street.  She was the daughter of
Joseph and Ellen Brooks and lived in Bushnell township, Montcalm county 84
years.  She was married to Charles Bailey in 1895.  He died in 1943.

Mrs. Bailey was a charter member of Bushnell Aid society.

Surviving are two sons, Joseph Bailey of Greenville, and Roy Bailey of Ionia;
three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Bennett of Alma, Mrs. Chloe Sherd of Carson City,
Mrs. Cora Flint of San Diego, Calif.; and one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Bailey;
24 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Stebbins funeral home in Sheridan with
burial at Palo cemetery.  The Rev. Floyd Emshwiller, pastor of Ionia First
Christian church, will officiate.  Bearers will be LeRoy Flint, Lewie Bennett,
Frank Bailey, Donald Bailey, Irving Sherd, and Louis Bookie.
