Jack Eugene Bailey, 82, of Stanton, passed away Monday morning, December 12, 
2005 at Metron of Greenville.  Jack was born February 27, 1923 in Belding, the 
son of Rista R. and Olive May Holmes Bailey.  

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was a 
life member of Sheridan VFW Post 5065.  On September 13, 1958 he married Laura 
Sower in Belding.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Laura, on September 25, 2001; his 
parents; stepmother, Beatrice Rhoades Bailey; twin brothers, Lyle and Lewis R. 
Bailey; brother, Harmon L. Bailey; two sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law, 
Theresa Wood, Ivah M. “Billie” and Ben Doxey; and grandson, Todd Alexander.

Jack is survived by his children, John E. and Mary Jo Bailey of Greenville, Ila 
Diana Denman, Sheila and Dan Christensen, all of Stanton; grandchildren, Jon 
Tomlinson, Brian and Kelly Gyger, Greg and Kami Alexander, Molly and Shawn 
Fries, Steve Hoogerhyde and friend Nichole Reyes; great-grandchildren, Tiara 
Gyger, Christopher Dypher, Martin Dypher, Kavin Miller, Jade Hoogerhyde; and 
brother, Richard Wood of Kalamazoo.

Funeral services are 3 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, 
Belding, with Pastor Larry Pike of Traditional Congregational Church, Stanton, 
officiating.  Private interment will follow in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, 
Belding.  The family will greet relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at 
the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer 
Society.
