Nov. 13, 2018 JOANE BAILEY Joane Bailey passed away November 9, 2018 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI. She was born in the City of Ionia, October 6, 1933 to Harold Lewis Bailey and Ruth Lucille Tingley. She was a lifelong resident of Ionia. Joane married Robert Harold Bailey on June 18, 1952 in New York City on the Bride and Groom TV show. She dedicated her life to her family and helping others. In early years, she worked at the telephone company and Dan's Bicycle Shop, and later as a caregiver. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 55 years, and more recently of Shiloh Community Church in Orleans. Everyone who met her was touched by her kindness and warmth. Her Christian faith was a very important part of her life. These values she instilled in her family will live on forever; she will be deeply missed. Joane is survived by her son, Keith Bailey of Ionia; daughters, Kathy (Pat) Ringler of Tennessee and Lisa (Dennis ) Fountain of Ionia; daughter-in-law Patricia Bailey of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Angela VanderHulst of Grand Rapids, Christine Ringler of Alabama, Laura Ringler of Nebraska, Jessica Fountain of Wyoming, Alex and Daniel Fountain of Ionia; great-grandchildren, Ava and Ayden VanderHulst of Grand Rapids; brother Richard Rice of Belding; sister, Geraldine (Ronald) Wells of Lowell; her close high school friends, Mary Ackerson and Edna Wray and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandma, Myrtle Galloup. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 14, at Shiloh Community Church with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Tuesday 4-7 pm at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Memorial donations may be made to Christian Service Center in Ionia.
