Ionia Weekly Sentinel - Thursday, Feb. 15, 1906

The funeral of Dr. C. E. Bailey was largely attended last Thursday at the 
Methodist church. Rev. W. I. Cogshall delivered the funeral sermon. The casket 
was covered with flowers from friends and relatives. The bearers were the two 
brothers of Dr. Bailey and two brothers of Mrs. Bailey. Interment in Balcom 
cemetery.


THURSDAY, FEBRURAY 8, 1906
Dr. C. E. Bailey died Monday at 5 o'clock at the family home on South Jefferson 
street after long and painful sufferings, and having submitted to an operation 
for gangrene a few days ago. Dr. Bailey came to Ionia bout three years ago, and 
during his short residence here improved the residence properties where he 
lived. He was a long time practitioner in the county and for years suffered 
from diabetes. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock, today, interment in 
Balcom cemetery.
