The  Ionia County News, Thursday, May 9, 1929
Mrs. Viva May Bailey, 26, wife of Joe Bailey, died Wednesday night at the home 
in South Ionia after a week’s illness resulting from an attack of influenza.  

She is survived by her husband, twin children, Clyde and Frances, aged six, 
and a daughter, Olga aged 3.  There also survive her parents, Mr. and Mrs. 
George Worthy, Bushnell; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bailey, her sister, 
Cora Wortley, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Knapp.

Funeral services will be from the home Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and from the Palo 
Baptist church one hour later.  Burial will be in Palo cemetery.
