Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 23 Jun 1944

James H. (Dad) Bailey died suddenly Thursday afternoon at his home, 465 Rice 
street, where he had resided for many years.  He had long been a chef in Ionia 
restaurants.

Surviving are the widow, Inez; two sons, Marvin (Buzz) Bailey of Lansing and 
Merrell Bailey of Burbank, Calif.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Bradley 
funeral home.  Rev. Paul L. Stewart will officiate and burial will be in the 
family lot in Balcom cemetery.
