He lived several years on his farm northeast of this village. He was tenderly cared for in his declining health by his faithful wife. John N. Bainbridge was born in Seneca county, New York state, October 5, 1849, and died at his home in Lake Odessa December 3, 1926, aged 77 years, one month and 28 days. At the age of five years he came with his parents to Galesburg, Michigan. He was united in marriage on December 30, 1874, to Harriet Rossetta Gates. To this union was born one daughter, Bertha May, who died at the age of three years. He engaged in farming until 1914, when he moved to Lake Odessa. He was of a quiet nature, a kind husband and neighbor and loved by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn their loss, a wife, six nephews, four nieces and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the home Monday at one o’clock conducted by Rev. A. E. Gay. Interment was made at Mount Hope cemetery, Middleville, Michigan. Card of Thanks: I wish to thank the friends and neighbors for flowers, also the singers and Rev. A. E. Gay for his comforting words, for all other acts of kindness shown me during the sickness and burial of my husband.
