Ionia Daily Sentinel, 8 & 11 Nov 1960

Mrs. Elizabeth Grace Baird, 88, of 611 East Lincoln avenue, died early Tuesday
morning in an Ionia convalescent home.  She had been in ill health the past
several years.

Born March 31, 1872 in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Chauncey
and Susan Boyer, she was married in Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania to Oliver
Clark Baird.  He preceded her in death November 9, 1924.  They moved from
Pennsylvania to McBride in 1933 and came to Ionia in 1945.

She was a member of the Methodist church in Pennsylvania and the Rebakah lodge
in McBride.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Earl Davis and Mrs. Lillian McFeaters of
Ionia, and Mrs. Jane Lehman of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one son, Blaine C. Baird of
Cannon Falls, Minn.; nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and five
great-great-grandchildren.  A son, Elwood, died in April of 1960.

Funeral service will be Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from Phelps funeral
chapel.  The Rev. Harold Jayne will officiate with interment in the family lot
in McBride.

Funeral service for Mrs. Elizabeth G. Baird, 88, of 611 East Lincoln avenue, who
died early Tuesday morning, was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Phelps funeral
chapel.  The Rev. Harold A. Jayne officiated and interment was in the family lot
at McBride cemetery.

Bearers were Robert Baird, Guy Messacar, Emmett Getts, Elmo Patton, Clarence
Misner and Victor Larson.

Relatives attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Guy Messacar of Lansing,
Mr. and Mrs. Grant Baird of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. George Stout of Warren, Mr.
and Mrs. Elwood Griffith of Kalamazoo and Mrs. Jack Hyland of Muskegon, Mrs.
Manlus Granso of Hesperia, Mrs. Barney Szumal of Mt. Clemens, Mrs. Earl Lehman
of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine C. Baird of Cannon Falls, Minn.
