Hemingway, 222 Lafayette street, Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 o’clock after she suffered a heart attack earlier in the day. Mrs. Baird had been in failing health since January but was believed recovering and had walked downtown Monday. She was born December 13, 1848, in Orleans township, the daughter of Julius Jennings and Elsie Kidd. After attending school in Orleans township she became a teacher in the Loomis school in South Ionia and in 1878 was married to David Baird. The couple then moved to Missouri where they lived a short time, later moving to Denver where Mr. Baird died in 1900. Mrs. Baird returned in 1900 to Ionia where she has since lived. In 1931 she moved to the Hemingway home where she died Tuesday afternoon. Surviving besides her sister, Mrs. Hemingway, is one brother, Max Jennings, of St. Clair. Funeral services are to be held from the Hemingway home Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Interment will be at the Highland Park cemetery beside her husband.
