Broas St., died December 3, at United Memorial Hospital, Greenville. Mr. Bakeman was born August 10, 1898 in Otisco township and attended Belding High School. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of Hugo Fales Post No.203 American Legion, a life member of B.P.O.E. No. 548, Ionia, a member of Rebekah Lodge No. 60, a member of Central Methodist Church and an employee of Detroit Gasket Co. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mabel Clark of Belding; two brothers, Edwin of Bay City, and Harry of Rockford, Ill.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday from the Fitzjohn-Courser Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Dean, pastor of Central Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in River Ridge Cemetery with graveside services in charge of Hugo Fales Post No. 203, American Legion. Pall bearers were Ed Punches, Jack Rice, Norman Wilcox, Eugene Lee, Alvah Face and Dick Bussell.
