Baker, 68, Easton Township, Ionia, passed away early Saturday morning, Sept. 21, 1996, at his home. He was born Jan. 2, 1928, in Easton Township, the son of Archie and Minnie Wrisley Baker. He spent most of his life in the Easton, Ionia area. He was married to the former Alice E. Meeker on June 11, 1949, who survives. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. He retired from Extruded Metals in Belding in 1978. The most important things in life were his family and his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Alice; five sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert W. Baker, Jack E. and Ida Baker, Richard L. and Linda Baker, Tom J. Baker, all of Ionia, Dennis G. Baker of Dickson, Tenn.; four grandsons, Jason, Scot, Jeb and Ryan; three granddaughters, Holly, Jammie and Kasey; two grand- granddaughters, Emily and Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter-in-law, Lois Jean Baker; two sisters, Betty and Victoria; and one brother, Wilbur. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Ionia, with Pastor Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rich Street Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
