Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 20 May 1961

Mrs. Carrie L. Baker, 83, of 217 Lafayette street, died Friday evening at the
home of a nephew, Russell McLaren, 1241 Whitmore, Grand Rapids, after an illness
of several months.

A lifelong resident of Ionia county, she was born June 4, 1877 in Ronald
township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McLaren.  She attended Ionia rural
schools and was married November 29, 1906 to Frank Baker.  He preceded her in
death June 1, 1938.

Mrs. Baker had resided at the present address the past 38 years.  She was a
member of First Presbyterian church of Ionia.

Surviving is her nephew, Russell McLaren of Grand Rapids.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 o’clock at Phelps funeral chapel. 
Entombment will be at Highland Park mausoleum.
