Born in Muir on June 20, 1915, he was the son of Clyde and Blanche Hallock Baker. He was a member of the Ionia Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surviving are three sons, Donald K. and Larry E. Baker, both of Pennsylvania; Gerald L. Baker of Clio, eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three brothers, Claude Baker of Arizona and Cleo and Dale Baker, both of Saranac; and a sister, Marvel Smith, also of Saranac. One son preceded him in death. Memorial services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Ionia Seventh Day Adventist Church, with pastor Donald Baker officiating. Ashes will be interred in Easton Cemetery. Memorials have been established for the Ionia Seventh Day Adventist Church and the American Cancer Society, in care of the Lake Funeral Home, which made arrangements.
