Frank L. Baker of this city received word this morning of the death of his sister, Miss Minnie E. Baker, at 10:50 Tuesday night, in Philadelphia, where she has been in hospital for about two weeks. Mrs. Baker went to Philadelphia last Wednesday and will return from there with the body of her sister-in-law. The funeral announcement will be made later. Miss Baker was 41 years old a graduate of the Ionia schools, having lived here all her life until the last few years. She taught music for many years here, and then went to Detroit, where she was a clerk in the music store of Grinnell Bros. for several years. Last summer she went to Philadelphia where she has lived since. Her mother, Mrs. Clare E. Baker of this city, and the one brother, are all that survive of the immediate family. The funeral for Minnie Baker was held at her brother's home on High street Friday afternoon, Rev. M. L. Marchall officiating. The music was by Mrs. G. M. Phelps. The bearers were Al Stebbins, E. W. More, George Dye, Ray Curtis, W. F. Marquette and A. A. Baxter. Burial was in the family lot in Oak Hill cemetery. Additional Comments: Oakhill cemetery Sat.
