Lowell Ledger, 28 Aug 1958

Josephine M. Baker passed away at the Lowell Rest home last Wednesday after
three years of illness following the death of her husband in 1954.  Born in
Wattervale, New York, in 1877, she was the daughter of James P. and Marion C.
Needham.  Mrs. Baker came here as a baby and lived on the Needham farm south of
Lowell, and attended McBride School.  She was married to Clifton S. Baker on
July 30, 1903 and they made their home in South Boston.  Mrs. Baker was active
in the Saranac Community Church and South Boston Grange.  Surviving her are a
brother, James P. Needham, two nieces; Mrs. Richard Stuart and Miss J. Barbara
Needham; one nephew, Emmett J. Needham.  Interment was made in the South Boston
cemetery.
