Baker, 100, Matherton’s oldest resident, died Friday afternoon in Carson City hospital. She was born September 12, 1881, in North Plains township, the daughter of Daniel and Lydia Dick. She attended Matherton School and was married to William Baker. They resided in Lansing and Grand Rapids until returning to Matherton in 1940. He died in 1954. She is survived by four grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Mattie Meister, of Grand Ledge. A son, four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. from the Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir with the Rev.
