His brief earthly life terminated after a long period of sickness, early Thursday morning, Aug. 10, 1933. Until three years ago Harold’s home was on a farm near Diamondale. There his school days began and continued until the family moved to this place. He made good progress in his school work and was in the seventh grade when his sickness compelled him to leave school. Harold was a fine, bright, likable boy. His many friends and companions are grieved over his passing from them and will miss him in the school room and the play ground. He was a member of both the Sunday school and the junior church of Central Methodist church, Lake Odessa. He was thoughtful and for a lad of his age earnest, and was to be received into the membership of the church on Children’s day, but his sickness made this impossible. His going from us is mourned by his father and mother and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. G.F. Balduf, by his four sisters Marian, June, Beatrice and Margaret, as well as by other relatives and many friends. The funeral service was held at the family home in Sebewa township, Saturday afternoon, Aug. 12. The music was furnished by Mrs. Rose Irwin, Mrs. Matt Armstrong and Morley Hough. Harold’s pastor, Rev. A.T. Cartland, officiated and was assisted by Rev. Glenn Rairigh. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery, Lake Odessa.
