Sentinel-Std. - Wednesday, July 26, 1978

IONIA- John C. (Jack) Bales, 47, of 1265 Bellamy road, died Tuesday evening 
at Ionia County Memorial hospital.

He was born December 13, 1930 in Cadillac, the son of Howard and Irene 
Richard Bales.

Mr. Bales was a partner with Fred Bishop in B&B Refuse, and was employed at 
Michigan Reformatory and was formerly employed by Consumers Power Company. 

He married the former Geraldine Robinson. She preceded him in death in 
March, 1965. He married Ann L. Poole April 29, 1966.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, an avid stock car racer and 
served with the Army during the Korean conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; o ne daughter, Rebecca, at home; his 
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bales of Muskegon and one brother, Bernard of 
Phoenix, Arizona.

Funeral mass is Thursday at 10 am in SS Peter and Paul church with Revv. 
Father Henry Dondzilla.

Burial is in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 pm in the Myers-Roetman funeral home 
with Knights of Columbus rosary at 8:30. 

A memorial fund is established for the American Cancer Society.
