CHARLES BALL, 93
Charles Edward Ball, age 93, of Vermontville, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

He was born March 30, 1925 in Alma, Michigan, the son of Lyle V. and Naomi
(Blackford) Ball. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WW II.

Preceding Charles in death are his wife, Adah Ball and sister, Barbara Hopkins.
Charles is survived by his step-daughters, Lana (Faro) Gervasi of Lansing andTina (Wayne)
Wieber of Westphalia; step-sons, Noble (Rosemary) Hartwick of Byron Center and George (Debra)

Carpenter of Jenison; special caregivers for many years, Pamela (Wayne) Stine of 
Vermontvile and their children, Tyrus Stine, Cassey Stine, Zachary (Meghan)
Carpenter, and Emily Carpenter,. Also, special caregivers Vicki and Russ Wieller and special
friends Diane Keeler and Shannon Beebe; 7 grandchildren; Zachary Carpenter, Emily Carpenter,

Michael Gervasi, Jordan Wieber, Kristen Wieber and Dustin Wieber and Elizabeth
Hartwick; several great-grandchildren; and sisters, Virginia Schooley and Joanne Miller.

The funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the
Lehman Funeral home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland
Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening fro 6-8 p.m at the
funeral chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman funeral Homes. Online condolences may
