Ballou Buried Friday. Rev. A.E. Gay Preaches Sermon. As was mentioned last week, Mrs. W.F. Ballou, a resident of the village for twenty-five years passed away at Wayne, Michigan. She was a loving mother and kind friend, of a quiet faithful nature. The funeral was held at her home here, Rev. A.E. Gay, pastor of the Congregational Church gave a splendid sermon on the briefness of a life, even of the number of years to which the oldest live, and the need of faithful use of our time. Burial was at Lake Side cemetery. Caroline Rosenworth was born in Germany, March 3rd, 1838, and came to this country at the age of thirteen years. On January 3rd, 1855, she was married to William F. Ballou of Wayne, Michigan. To this union two children were born, George W. Ballou of Wayne, Michigan and Mary Bragdon of Carlton, Barry County, Michigan. In 1884 they moved to Carlton, Barry County, Michigan, making this their home until 1890 when they moved to the village of Lake Odessa. In 1910 she was left a widow, and since that time, she has made this village her home until her passing, December 1st, 1925 at the age of eighty-seven years, eight months and twenty-eight days. She leaves to mourn their loss two children, three grand children and two great grand children, and other relatives and friends. ---- Card of Thanks We desire to thank the friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted with their help, and sympathy at the time of the burial of our dear mother.
