Ionia Sentinel Standard, 16 Oct 2015

Dorothy Balzell, age 95, passed away Oct. 12, 2015, at Clark on Keller Lake,
Grand Rapids.  She was born Jan. 31, 1920, in Ionia, the daughter of Augustus
“Gus” and Irene Whorley Gott. Dorothy married Arnold Balzell Jan. 2, 1941, in
Ionia.  

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Ann Balzell of Portland, Oregon, Kay
(James) Ward of Lansing and Marjorie Johnson of East Lansing; sister Linda
Pappin of Clio; grandchildren, Andrew Sarah, Andra, Calvin, Emily, Molly,
Samuel, Silas and Annie; and nine great grandchildren.  She was preceded in
death by her parents; husband; stepmother, Ethlyn Gott; sister, Florence Pierce;
grandson, Deforest Arnold Piper.

A memorial service was held Oct. 14, 2015, at Clark on Keller Lake, Grand Rapids.
