Bandfield was born in Somerset, England, in the year 1829, and was married to the late George Bandfield in 1853, and with her husband and oldest child came to America a few years after and settled first in Ohio. In 1863 they removed to the farm in Orange which had been their home until a year ago, when death claimed her husband. After months of loneliness and sorrow that even the loving care of children and friends could not lighten, she died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Rowe, February 11, 1894. Her long and severe illness was borne with Christian patience and fortitude, and even unto the end she trusted in Him who now “Giveth His beloved sleep.” Besides Mrs. Rowe, James and Chas. Bandfield mourn the loss of their mother. The Funeral services were conducted yesterday and the remains deposited in the vault in Portland cemetery.
