Ionia Standard 11 June 1909
James W. Banfield, a prominent farmer and pioneer resident of Orange, aged 55 
years, died on Tuesday after a prolonged sickness.  He was a nephew of T. J. 
Banfield, the furniture dealer of this city and Portland, and is survived by a 
wife and two children: George and Mrs. Chas. Miles, both of Orange.  Funeral 
at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon from the home three and half miles west of 
Portland village.
