The Ionia County News, Thursday, August 14, 1958
Andrew B. Banta, 85, of Route 1, Lyons, died Sunday, July 13 at the Ionia 
County Memorial Hospital.  He had been a patient there for six hours.  Born in 
Bloomer Township, Montcalm County, he made his home in Palo before moving to 
Route 1, Lyons, four years ago.  His wife, Henrietta, preceded him in death in 
1951.  Mr. Banta was a member of the Palo Methodist Church.

Surviving are one sister, Miss Lois Banta of Mt. Clemens; five step-daughters, 
Myrtle Willing of Springfield, Missouri, Mrs. Henry Bonite of Ionia, Maude 
Zwerk of Vassar, Goldie Andrews of Reese and Hazel Overly of Carson City; and 
one step-grandson, George Colwell of Ionia.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, July 15 at the Phelps Funeral Chapel with 
the Rev. Richard Kidder, pastor of the Lyons Methodist Church officiating.  
Interment was in the West Side Cemetery, Carson City.
