Mrs. Henrietta M. Banta, 81, died Sunday night in Sheridan Community hospital 
after a short illness.  She was born December 29, 1869 in Cleveland, Ohio.  
She had been a resident of Palo and vicinity for the past twenty years.  
Before that time she lived in Detroit.  She was a member of Palo Methodist 
Church.

She was married to William Colwell in 1887.  He died in 1907.  In 1909 she 
married Andrew Banta.  Seven daughters survive: Mrs. Ella Kline, Mrs. Hazel 
Ripley, Lansing, Mrs. Myrtle Woonver, Springfield, Mo.; Mrs. Loie Bonite, 
Lyons; Mrs. Goldie Andrews, Reese, Mrs. Maude Zwerk, Ionia; Mrs. Ethel Owen, 
Pontiac.  A daughter-in-law, Mrs. Irma Colwell, of Ionia survives.  Thirty-
three grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren are also survivors.

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Palo Wednesday at 2 
p.m. Interment will be in Hubbardston cemetery.  The Rev. Harold E. Homer of 
Hubbardston will officiate, and the body will repose at Stebbins funeral home 
until before the funeral.
