The Portland Observer, Wednesday, February 11, 1891


Mary J., relict of the late Grove P. Barber, died at the home of her daughter, 
Mrs. Ormund Brown, on Saturday night of last week, in the 65th year of her 
age.  Mrs. Barber had been a resident of Portland for some years and was highly 
respected by all who knew her.  

The funeral services were held at the Congregational church last Monday 
afternoon, the Rev. Mr. Bird officiating.  Mrs. Ormund Brown, Dr. Chan. Barber 
of Ithaca, and Will Barber of Portland, besides other children mourn the loss 
of a kind and indulgent mother.  Many friends and relatives from out of town 
attended the funeral services.
