Barbour of Matherton died at her home May 7th, lacking but a month of being 73 years old. She was born in Toronto, Canada June 3rd, 1856. Her maiden name was Worthy. When but 17 she married Hubert W. Barbour and they have lived in Matherton about thirty years. Seven children were born to them. She is survived by her husband and five children: Mrs. Bessie Cook of Grand Rapids, Roy and Ray of Detroit, Glenn of Chelsea and Morris of Matherton. There are also four grandchildren. Mrs. Barbour for many years was an active member of the Matherton United Brethren church, being class leader, superintendent and teacher. During recent years she has been poor in health. The funeral services was held at the home Friday afternoon with Rev. Floyd N. Drake officiating. Rev. S. J. Potter, who some years ago was pastor of the Matherton United Brethren church, was present and offered prayer. Burial was in the East Plains cemetery.
