Barbour, 74, of Matherton, who passed away at his home there at 10:30 Sunday night. He had suffered a stroke in August 1942, and had been bedridden since September 1953. For the past five months he had been very ill. Born in Ionia county March 26, 1881, he married Elizabeth Beyette at Ionia June 15, 1925. They moved to Matherton from Detroit on November 27, 1942. Surviving besides the widow are four brothers, Clarence of Vale, Oregon, Glen of Parma, Maurice W. of St. Johns rural route, and Ray of Matherton. Rev. Benjamin Davis, pastor of the Matherton United Brethren church, will officiate at the services. Interment will be in East Plains cemetery, Matherton. I would like to thank my many friends and neighbors both in Carson City and Matherton for the many kindnesses shown me. A special thanks to Dr. L. L. Budd for his never tiring efforts to make Mr. Barbour as comfortable as possible during his long illness, and for the wonderful way the funeral was conducted by the Burns- Gunther Funeral Home.
