She had had two serious operations at the hospital at Ann Arbor, and died following them. The remains will be taken to the undertakers at Grand Rapids, and the funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Barden’s sister in Berlin township, Rev. Hoag having charge of the services. ------ Orleans, Mar. 31. – Our community was shocked last Monday morning to hear of the death of Mrs. Arthur Barden at Ann Arbor. Mrs. Barden had been in poor health for sometime, but being always cheerful and pleasant her friends did not realize the seriousness of her condition. She underwent an operation last Wednesday, and another one Saturday from which she never rallied. The remains will be taken direct to Grand Rapids, and from there to Berlin, where the funeral will be held Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Barden have resided here about three years, and during this time have made many friends. The sympathy of all is extended Mr. Barden in his great bereavement. [Transcriber Note: There is a notation on the obituary card that she was the daughter of John and Elida L.
