Barden, age 83, who passed away Friday afternoon at the M. J. Clark Memorial Home in Grand Rapids. He is survived by his wife, Mabel, of the Clark Memorial Home; 3 nephews, Harold Roseberry, of Franklin; Henry Roseberry, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and George Roseberry, of Florida, and one niece, Mrs. Robert Wilson, of Daytona Beach, Fla. Mr. Barden was born at St. Johns, October 9, 1875, the son of Alfred and Jane Barden, who came from Tunburgh, England, in 1871. He had lived for over 40 years in Orleans. He suffered a stroke on Monday, June 1, and did not regain consciousness. He was a member of the Orleans Methodist church. Mr. Barden reposed at the Greenhoe chapel, Creston mortuary in Grand Rapids until Monday at 1 o’clock when his remains were brought to the Orleans Methodist church. Rev. L. Brokaw, of Belding, officiated at the funeral service. Interment was in the Orleans cemetery. The pallbearers were Earl Doty, T. P. Holland, Lester Hulbert, Kenneth Johnson, Orville Ballinger and Myron Kennedy.
