Barger, 70, of Belding, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 26, 2004, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on July 24, 1934, in Stanton, the daughter of Frank and Sophia Miller Christensen. Kathryn was employed for many years at Process Equipment Corp. and served as the manager of Local No. 4 Credit Union in Belding. She enjoyed making and selling many types of crafts. She also enjoyed her talent of sewing. Over the years she sewed many outfits including two complete wedding gowns and all the accompanying bridesmaids dresses. Kathryn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. An April 17, 1953, she married Robert K. Barger in Belding. He survives along with their children, Debora and Bill Nichols of Manistee, David and Liz Barger of Grand Rapids, Gordon Barger of New York City; her grandchildren, Andy Barger, Jason DuMond, Jessica Brakora, Dan Barger, Heather DuMond, Kelley Brakora; a great-granddaughter soon to be born ; her sister, Frances Lanning of Stanton; sister-in-law, Ruth Christensen of Sheridan; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Calvin and Ruth Brooks of Belding; several nieces and nephews. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter in infancy; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Howard and Thelma Christensen, Ernie Christensen, Melvin Christensen. Memorial services are 11 a.m. Monday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger, of Shiloh Community Church, officiating. Interment is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to Visiting Nurse Hospice or Shiloh Community Church.
