August 6, 1915 OBITUARY Florus Alton Barkdull Florus Alton Barkdull, the youngest son of Thomas F. and Mary Il Barkdull, was born April 21, 1903, at Odessa Center, Michigan and died at his home in Lake Odessa, July 21, 1915, aged twelve years and three months. He was always of a bright, cheerful, disposition and such a dear loving little companion in the home that he has left so desolate and lonely; but we know he is safe with Jesus, his dear Savior, who will ever keep him, in that beautiful home of light and love. Besides his father and mother he leaves two brothers, Ellsworth of Los Angeles, California and Howard of Lake Odessa, also one little nephew, Thomas H.Jr. with many relatives and friends. His funeral was held Tuesday, the 27th, at the Methodist church, Rev. Thos. Laity, preaching from the test, Matt.19-14, "Jesus said, "Suffer little children and forbid them not to come unto me, for such is the Kingdom of Heaven." Burial was in Lakeside cemetery. Those from away to attend his funeral were Ellsworth E.Barkdull, of Los Angeles, California; Mrs.E.F.Otto, of Battle Creek, Michigan. Miss Florence L.Otto, fo Jackson; Miss Arvilla Bower, of Kalamazoo, Mr. ad Mrs. John Bower and Mr.and Mrs. Tello Bower, of Sunfield. "Tis hard to break the tender cord, When love has bound the heart, "Tis hard, so hard to speak the words, Must we forever part? Dearest loved one we have laid thee, In the peaceful grave's embraces But the memory will be cherished, "Til we see thy heavenly face. We miss thee from our home, dear, We miss thee from thy place, A shadow e'er our life is cast, We miss the sunshine of thy face. Far beyond this world of changes, For beyond the world of care, We shall find our missing lived one In our Father's mansion fair. CARD OF THANKS We wish through the Wave-Times to thank all the dear friends, relatives and neighbors for their sympathy and many acts of kindness to us during the short illness and death of Florus, our precious little son and brother, also for the many, many beautiful flowers, and to the singers, and to our pastor for the cheering, comforting words of sermon and song. To all do we feel most grateful and may God's blessing ever rest upon you. Mr.and Mrs. Thomas F.Barkdull Mr.and Mrs. Ellsworth E.Barkdull Mr.and Mrs. Howard H.
