The Ionia Standard, Friday, October 6, 1882

Saranac.  The wife of Amon Barker of this township was so burned on Monday 
last while setting by her own fireside that she died soon after.  She has been 
a helpless invalid for a number of years past, and in some manner her clothing 
ignited from the fire while she was seated in a chair near it.
