Barker, 90, of Lake Odessa, died Thursday at 5:30 a.m. at Bide-A-Wee rest home in Belding. He was a patient there several weeks. He was born in Campbell township, October 3, 1876, the son of John Barker and Mary Wortley Barker and a lifelong resident of that area. A retired farmer, he lived in the village of Lake Odessa since 1941, and was a member of Evangelical United Brethren church. October 21, 1899 he married Lottie Bower, who survives him. Surviving besides his wife are, one son, Gerald of Belding; five daughters, Mrs. Myron Hancock of Brooksville, Fla., Mrs. Glenn Hawkins and Mrs. Paul Faust of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Monte Rawlings of Lansing and Mrs. Kenneth Stokke of Portland, Oregon; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa with Rev. Vernon Beardsley officiating and burial in Lakeside cemetery.
