From the Ionia Standard.

Another Murder. – Wednesday evening, Sept. 8, Chas. Barker and Simon Hands, of
Campbell township, got into a quarrel about some old trouble, when Hands seized
a handspike and struck Barker over the head, crushing the skull so that death
ensued in a few hours.  Hands is a young man of 18 and Barker was 40.  The
citizens of the township offer $100 reward for the apprehension of Hands.
