Lake O. Wave - November 10, 1955
NORMAN BARKER DIED SUNDAY
   Norman J. Barker 82, lifelong resident of this area died unexpectedly Sunday
morning at the home of his 
son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Elmer C. Lee of 1225 Woodbine St. Lansing,
where he had spent the 
past month.
   Harry Leadley, a coroner of Ingham county, said death was caused by heat ailment.
He was a life member of 
the Lake Odessa Masonic Lodge, Spanish War veteran and member of the Lake Odessa
IOOF lodge, and 
retired from farming in 1920.
  Surviving besides the daughter are a brother George of Lake Odessa; two grand
children and two great 
grand children.
   Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Pickens Funeral Chapel under
the auspices of the 
Masonic lodge with burial in Lakeside cemetery.  Rev. Burton Mick of Clarksville
officiated.
