CHARLOTTE BARKER DIES AT BELDING

Mrs. Charlotte Lottie Barker, 89, passed away last Wednesday afternoon at the 
Christian rest Home at Belding where she had been a patient almost four years.

She was born in Odessa Township Sept. 19, 1880, daughter of John and Rachel 
(Lepard) Bower, and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Mrs Barker was a member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church, the WSCS of the 
church, Recreation Club and a charter member of the Blue Star Mothers Chapter.

She married George C. Barker Oct. 21, 1899, and he passed away March 2, 1967.

Surviving are a son, Gerald of Belding; five daughters, Mrs Myron (Thelma) 
Hancock and Mrs Monty (Wanda) Hawlins of Brooksville, Fla.; Mrs Glenn (Natalie) 
Hawkins and Mrs Paul (Margaret) Faust of Phoenix, Ariz., ad Mrs Kenneth (Ardith) 
Stokke of Portland, Ore.; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, 
Mrs Emma Griebel and Mrs. Arvilla Murty of Lake Odessa and now residents of the 
Christian Rest Home and a brother, Tello Bower of Big Rapids.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Pickens funeral Chapel. 
Rev. Wilbur Williams officiated, with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
