May 11, 1917 CAMPBELL MAN IS A WHITE PLAGUE VICTIM Ernest D. Barker, Loving Brother, Devoted Son and true Friend, Missed by All. The community was saddened to hear of the death of Ernest D.Barker, another of Campbell's most promising young men, who passed away last week Tuesday morning, May 1, at the home of his parents. For the last year, he has been under the best medical care, having been before two of the nation's greatest doctors, but relief of a temporary character was all that could be obtained; and, after much suffering, tuberculosis caused his death. He belonged to the F.& A.M., No.30, Rochester, Minn., where he was well known. The funeral services were held Friday. Rev. Chas Mourer had charge of the short service at the house. Rev. G.W. one brake officiated at the United Brethren church and music was furnished there by a quartette composed of Mrs. D.A. Mourer, Miss Verda Gattner, Leon T. Gilson and Maurice D. Armstrong. Deceased was laid to rest in Lakeside cemetery, on the anniversary of his birth. The funeral was very largely attended and the floral tributes were exceptionally beautiful.
